Your premium will also increase if you select any optional benefits.
We have created our policies so that you only pay for the cover you need. You can reduce the cost of your premium in the following ways…
- We have three separate cover plans for motorcycle insurance. You can select the plan according to your needs, including premium level.
- Certain models of motorcycle are more costly to insure than others. Consider this when buying a new vehicle.
- Our insurance protects you on the road. If you take advantage of our optional extras then your premium will go up.
An excess is the amount that you must contribute towards the cost of a claim. The type of excess and the amount payable will be shown on the Schedule. If you make a claim, you will have to pay us any excess that applies.
A No Claim Discount is a discount that we offer you on your renewal premium if there are no claims on your policy during the current period of insurance.

DO NOT attempt to start your engine in flood water as this may cause serious damage to your engine.
Premium calculations are based on multiple factors, especially risk factors such as vehicle model, capacity and the profile of the driver. Since the market value of a vehicle has no influence over claims from third parties regarding injuries and damage to property, it is not considered to be a direct risk factor. In addition, motor vehicle repair costs are always increasing, which has to be reflected in insurance premiums.
Numerous factors affect how a premium is calculated. There may be an increased level of claims for your particular make and model, which can push premiums up. Inflation may also mean higher premiums; if repair, legal and medical costs go up, for example, premiums need to reflect this.
In some years insurance firms experience a high level of claims, and therefore have to increase policy premiums across their entire product range. This might happen to your premium, regardless of whether or not you have made a claim or not. However, if your record is clean you will still get a lower premium than those who have made claims.
